World Cup
I have to say Mbappe is my favorite player. The World Cup is something I was fascinated by because it was always in foreign countries except for 1994. I’ve always been a soccer player. I never have been a fan of just watching soccer. I think it’s a much more fun game to play than watch. Football is the opposite.
I never played football other than just for fun without real tackling though.
One thing with soccer is that there’s a lot of diving. When a player thinks they might be able to get a foul, they go to the ground. How is this a good thing? They are using fouls to stop the play.
My second favorite player is Jude Bellingham. I think England has a legitimate shot to win the World Cup this year. I like England but they also do a lot of flopping.
I do enjoy playing FIFA on PlayStation 5. It’s a very fun game. I was the Manager for Tottenham Spurs and got to know Harry Kane. He’s my fourth favorite player.
Messi is my third favorite player. He is isn’t my favorite because I didn’t really watch his whole career. Most European soccer matches are played at night in the USA. It’s hard to follow the matches so I don’t really watch pro European soccer.
My favorite player all time in Ronaldo from Brazil. I remember watching the World Cup that Brazil team won. I bought all the cards of my favorite Brazil players I could find. Ronaldinho is my second favorite player all time.
I wonder if Argentina will be the Brazil of this new generation. Those of us who grew up in the 90s think of Brazil as our second team other than our home country. I think the younger generations view Messi and Argentina that way. It will be interesting if they still show up with Messi shirts after he retires.
I like to think of Brazil as being the Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls of soccer. Brazil’s Ronaldo was the Michael Jordan of that era.
Ronaldinho was like the Scottie Pippen who was as good if not better than Michael Jordan i.e. Ronaldo.
France vs England in the World Cup Final is my prediction. Bellingham vs Mbappe is what I want to see.
